oof.

We've been hit with a virus (again). Gracious. I have it worst of all, at least so far. I promise I'll be back with a real post soon. Unless I get another cold. Or the flu. Or something else.

  1. Hi Brittany,

I recently came across your blog through Pinterest. I found you on Pinterest and swore we were instant friends! We have so much of the same taste and like so many of the same things! I even said something to my boyfriend, Nick who replied "is she 8 months pregnant too?" =) I have been reading your blog and just started to get to the part where you aren't feeling so good =( sending lots of positive energy and wishes your way all the way from Key West, FL! I don't really know what has prompted me to write you, possibly this connection that I feel to you! I, too, suffered from neck pain for about ten years. While it wasn't anything like what you are probably experiencing, it was painful and I have only just started to seek help with it after being introduced to a true healer. I have been going to a chiropractor/nutritionist/acupuncturist for about a month now and my neck pain is some days non-existant. He had to reset my neck, which has allowed it to start healing. I had no idea what I did to in the first place. I always thought it was due to stress.. I tried massage, yoga... but it would always come back. I am still a huge advocate of both, but am now experiencing true healing through the hands of this man. He uses "instruments" on me.. they are these metal things and the first time he ran it over my neck, there was this bump that it kept running over. I go back twice a month for him to "iron" out my neck and back. I was really scared of chiropractors for a while (all that cracking makes me nervous!!), but am so grateful that I have found this man. He is also helping me very much through my pregnancy! I am having a little boy in April =) I also tested for high blood sugar about two months ago, which was due to low iron. Jonathen (my healer) told me to eat more raisins. I eat A LOT of raisins! He also told me to buy good pillows for my neck, as I have yet to do. But I think a memory foam pillow or something nice like that is in my near future. I wish there was a way for you to travel to Key West and see him because I have seen him work and it is truly magical. He uses herbs and a homeopathic approach, which I am all about. He is one of the healers in my life, a long with Angie Arkin (you can google her), who offers BEAUTIFUL meditation techniques that are really easy and helpful. I would love to connect with you further and share this journey with you and offer you any help that I can. This whole recovery is all new to me, it only started when I started to realize that my life isn't just about me anymore... I am learning more about healthy eating and other techniques to help me the best mom that I can be! I will continue to share info with you. One of my friends recently told me about an iron supplement (that comes in powder form) available from the health food store (which I have forgotten the name of) that really helped her when she suffered from severe low iron during her pregnancy. I will find out more about this and pass that info on to you. I have a blog that I just started, you can check it out. The name is banpanbkw.blogpost.com. 2. hi Brittany, the iron stuff is called Floridix. My friend said it really helped her raise her iron levels, just drinking it down with some water or something. She is a vegetarian, so she had to work hard at it. I also found out about wheat germ, which I am going to start taking as part of my pregnancy routine. I found out some info on that too, apparently it's like a super food. Here is what I found out... It is full of:

    B vitamins
Wheat germ is packed with important B vitamins, such as folate, vitamin B1 (thiamin) and vitamin B6. B vitamins are important for the heart, to make proper mood chemicals for our brain, and are critical for cardiovascular health.

    Fiber
Wheat germ contains lots of fiber, which is necessary for good blood sugar balance, cholesterol control, intestinal health and detoxification.

I hope some of this info helps you!
