petals.

We've reached that point in winter that we inevitably reach, when sheer boredom sets in, when my mommy-mind is exhausted and won't turn over any new, fun ideas. Painting is one thing that always brings the spark back, especially when it is full of color and mess and absolutely no boundaries.

I'm curious, what do you do to fill yourself back up?

  1. Those paintings are really pretty!! I love the colors and design, definitely something nice to look at on this dreary day.

  2. Pretty! I watercolor doodle too right now anyway. I get bored with crafts really easily. Last year I made tiny animals out of paper clay. I write watercolor posters, I make doll clothes (I have a weird thing about tiny things), for the last two weeks I got really into embroidering inspirational quotes onto stuff. you know. I cook and do herbal projects...

    1. Milla, it sounds like you have many interests! I'm very much the same. I often tell my husband that there isn't enough life in years for all the art-related things I want to try. :)

    2. I know! My friend Amelia and I lament constantly that life is not long enough for all the things we want to do...

  3. These are beautiful. I always dream of being creative with paints and yet it just never works out. Ha! A day of baking or dancing or yoga usually gets me back to feeling like myself again.

    1. Erin--thank you! There is a book called Water Paper Paint by Heather Smith Jones, and it's all about having fun with watercolor. If you're ever interested in dabbling, I highly recommend it. And I adore yoga! Do you have a favorite style?
